Milan Savic, M.S.W., LSW

Licensed Social Worker

There is a principle that has led me throughout my career thus far. That principle is the fact that society cannot function without people helping one another with a common goal in mind. That is how I approach mental health. It is a two-way street where I give everything I have to help my clients reach their goals. I believe that every individual can become a healthier version of themselves with the right kind of guidance.

I have worked with various age groups and people from all over the world. Adolescents, elderly, and middle-aged individuals have all crossed my path and helping them has been an honor. I have spent years counseling people with trauma, anxiety, depression, interpersonal relationships, and various other challenges that people face on a regular basis.

I am fluent in Serbian and English, and coming to the United States as a refugee has taught me that starting from scratch and beginning a new life is never easy. It may not be easy, but it is certainly possible! Therapy is a safe space that I am always willing to create and provide. Let’s begin today!

Whether someone is an introvert or an extrovert, relationships and meaningful connections are a vital part of mental health. One of my former clients struggled deeply after a divorce—not only with heartbreak and financial strain, but with the challenging work of rebuilding their identity. Over time, I had the privilege of watching this person not only overcome those obstacles, but go on to remarry successfully and become more confident than ever before.

Although reducing stigma remains a daily effort, we have made meaningful progress as a society. When the topic arises, I often point out that this is one of the most ironic stigmas of all. Not everyone has broken a leg, experienced cancer, or battled diabetes—yet every person I have ever met has struggled psychologically at some point in their lives. Why do we attach stigma to the most common of human experiences? I’ve seen this simple shift in perspective help clients view our field differently and feel far more comfortable walking into the office.

“Therapy is a safe space that I am always willing to create and provide.”
