Hi, I’m Megan, and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor. I believe therapy is about more than simply talking about what is difficult—it is about having someone in your corner as you make sense of what you are experiencing, learn more about yourself, and figure out what you need to move forward.
Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially if you are unsure of what to expect. I strive to make that first step a little easier by creating a space where you can feel comfortable being honest, asking questions, and showing up exactly as you are. I want my clients to feel heard and understood, while also feeling encouraged and supported as they work toward their goals.
Throughout my experience, I have worked with children, teens, young adults, adults, and families. I enjoy getting to know each person as an individual and believe that therapy should be tailored to the person sitting in front of me. I use approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), incorporating different techniques based on what feels most helpful for each client.
Sometimes therapy is a place to process emotions, talk through something that has been weighing on you, or simply have someone listen without judgment. Other times, it may be about learning how to manage anxiety or difficult emotions, building confidence, improving relationships, developing coping skills, or navigating a major life change. There is no “right” reason to come to therapy, and you do not have to have everything figured out before reaching out.
I have experience working with anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, developmental delays, intellectual disabilities, personality disorders, and other emotional and behavioral concerns. No matter what brings you to therapy, my hope is that you leave our work together feeling more understood, more confident in yourself, and better equipped to handle whatever comes next.
Taking the first step can be difficult, but you do not have to figure everything out on your own. If you are looking for a therapist who will meet you with compassion, patience, and understanding, I would love to connect and see if we are a good fit.
